On August 11, 2023, Crushing Colonialism held its Decolonized Beatz Indigenous World Pride kick-off event in the heart of Turtle Island on Treaty 1 territory ("Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada").

The event included Indigenous women and 2SLGBTQIA+ community members singing, dancing, and speaking their truth through traditional storytelling. This included Kind Hart Women Singers, Gayle Pruden, Monique May, Cambria Harris, Soaring Eagle, and a film screening of Extractions with a virtual conversation with director, Theo Jean Cuthand.

Small gifts were donated by Aurora Farms for the first 200 event attendees and a raffle was held featuring Indigenous-made and donated items. Part of the proceeds from the raffle were used to buy items on the Amazon wish list for Camp Morgan and Camp Marcedes, two frontline camps dedicated to bringing home their Murdered and Missing Indigenous, Women, Girls, and Two-Spirits.
