INDIGENOUS WORLD PRIDE 2025

Crushing Colonialism is gathering support for Decolonized Beatz, Indigenous World Pride 2025, an Indigenous-led event in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the work of Native and Indigenous storytellers, artists, and performers, including Indigenous women, AfroIndigenous, 2LGBTQIA+, and disabled Indigenous people. Decolonized Beatz Indigenous World Pride will provide 2LGBTQIA+ Indigenous created and led programming that meets the access, cultural and safety needs of all our relatives and non-Indigenous guests when Washington, D.C. hosts World Pride, May 23-June 8, 2025.

We’ll produce an Indigenous music and performance series to celebrate the work of Indigequeer artists from across the world during the global celebration. These events will feature films, dancers, live performances, poetry, visual art, and more organized to support and connect organizers and performers, to uplift our 2LGBTQIA+ Indigenous creatives, and open up places for sharing and celebrating our creativity and beauty.

Our Approach

  • Develop a core planning committee for Decolonized Beatz-Indigenous World Pride, composed of 2LGBTQIA+ Indigenous people from around the world

  • Bring together multiply marginalized artists to create Indigenous programming

  • Organize a free event featuring films, dancers, live performances, poetry, and visual art, while fostering community safety and disability and language accessibility and justice

  • Produce communications and documentation for the event in accessible formats across languages and disability needs

  • As a lead up to the primary 2025 event, we will produce two events, and communications materials, highlighting 2LGBTQIA+ Indigenous artists and performers and their important contributions to our communities.
