Thank you for making history with us!

Decolonized Beatz Indigenous World Pride was truly life-changing. Held on Piscataway Land (so-called Washington, D.C.) on  May 30 and June 1st, 2025, this powerful two-day gathering brought together IndigiQueer and multiply-disabled artists, performers, and community members from across the globe—so-called Brazil, Gambia, Fiji, Palestine, Canada, Finland, the U.S., and more.

We shared space to honor our stories, celebrate our artistry, and reclaim our right to be together across colonial borders. As Tatiana Villegas (Tlingit and Haida Tribes) beautifully said:

“Crushing Colonialism cultivates a unique environment full of Indigenous love, creativity, and Queerness. Whenever I am in space with my Indigenous community, I feel secure and heard. At DBIWP this was enhanced by also being surrounded by my Queer community. DBIWP gave me the opportunity to meet Indigenous creatives from around the world, who are able to understand my nuance, and I theirs. All IndigeQueer people have a voice, Crushing Colonialism ensures that we all have a platform to make our voices heard. For that, I am forever grateful.”

Tatiana speaking about their experience with the 2024 DBIWP Indigequeer film training.

From poetry to music to film to drag to Yoik and ritual performance, DBIWP was more than an event: it was a moment of collective joy, resistance, and healing. We’re so grateful to all who made it possible: performers, volunteers, speakers, our audience, and our relatives near and far.

We especially want to thank everyone who showed up in person and online! Your presence helped create something unforgettable.

This gallery is a glimpse into the beauty we witnessed together. More photos and videos will be coming soon! Stay tuned for full recordings of panels and performances on our YouTube channel.

With all our love and gratitude,
